The studio's hand

Drawn first. Decided before it is made.

Most of the cost of a fit-out isn't in the first cut. It's in the cuts you make twice. A specification that shifts after the carpenter's hand has already met the panel. A glass dimension agreed in a rushed call. A ceiling that asks for light only after the bulkhead is sealed in.

Mchoro Mawe was built on a quieter discipline: every decision is settled before the workshop door opens. Every line drawn. Every material named. The client signs off a render, not a plan, because a render shows what a room will feel like. A plan only shows where things go.

By the time we arrive on your site, there is nothing left for you to second-guess. Only the quiet confidence of watching your space becomes exactly what you imagined.

The 5 stages

Listen. Render. Build.

  1. 01

    Listen

A first conversation about what the room is for, who uses it, the budget you have, and the constraints you do not yet know about.

  2. 02

    Site Visit

Free, anywhere in Kenya. We walk the space, take measurements, and identify the technical questions a brief alone cannot answer.

  3. 03

    Render

Hand drawings translated into hyper-realistic 3D. You see the finished room, with light, materials and joinery, before any cut is made.

  4. 04

    Approve & Build

Specifications signed off in writing. The workshop pre-fabricates joinery; the on-site team installs against the agreed render.

  5. 05

    Handover

A walk-through, snag-list, and a handover pack with drawings, specifications, photographs, and warranty notes for the room you now own.

Typical timeline

Most projects run between six and twelve weeks from first site visit to handover.

Studio FAQ

Useful to know.

  • Yes. We will visit your site anywhere in Kenya at no cost and produce a tailored proposal afterwards. There is no obligation to proceed.

  • A medium office (200 to 400 m²) typically runs four to eight weeks from approved render to handover, depending on the glass and joinery specifications.

  • Yes. Joinery carries a one-year workshop warranty; glass and installation hardware are covered against manufacturer defects per the supplier terms, included in your handover pack.

  • Both. We handle full design-and-build, or design-only with a contractor of your choice. Our default is design-and-build because the render lives or dies in the workshop.

  • A fixed-fee proposal after the site visit. No hourly billing, no surprise change orders. Every variation is documented, costed and approved in writing before we proceed.

  • Yes. We have completed projects across Kenya. Travel and per-diem costs are itemised in the proposal so there are no surprises.
